April 17th - 19th, 2025: Abstract Processionism Sessions

I thought the structure I lacked was a regimen bounded solely by time, frequency and physical materials, but the critical missing pieces that left my painting puzzle unsolved were actually Abstraction & Theory!
By embracing my genuine instincts and sincere love for abstract painting, I found my structure; and reading abstract painting theory and criticism gives me intellectual theory, concrete methods, history, legacy and inspiration to lean on, and be comforted by as I take risks to create new, historical ruptures within the medium.

After 7 years of learning and researching through traditional and experiential modes, I am excited to attempt to fuse together my love for painting and my love for Integrative Medicine & Psychiatry. More specifically, I am saying yes to the interminable call to theorize how Bipolar 1 can be prevented and how it is most likely inaccurately characterized, diagnosed and cared for altogether. This book is relevant to my research, because Trauma Prevention is a large part of my theory, as well as the notion that how our internal and external emotional and physical realities are shaped during childhood are integral to understanding how this disease can be prevented and or how it develops.

April 6, 2025: Grateful to be solving problems:
My love for artifacts, fabric, dying fabric, textiles and found materials has accumulated to an archive of gorgeous material... that I want to paint with. Now that I’ve finally had the time to research the work of Robert Rauschenberg, I’m envision a very different approach to “painting” !

When living with a chronic illness, a season of illness is not a failure or setback. It is a season of recalibration, returning us to anatomical alignment. Anatomical alignment is the soil from which mental, emotional, spiritual, physical and psychological equilibrium, stability, and peace grows from.
